Two routes

Company as keeper, or your own name.

Most providers sell one setup and call it the only one. We publish both, with the same price, and tell you which is the awkward one for your case before you pay anything.

A

Model A — our UG as Halter

Our Brandenburg UG is entered as keeper; you stay the legal owner through the purchase contract. Fewest documents, fastest route, insured on our fleet agreement with AXA or Zurich.

B

Model B — your name in the Fahrzeugbrief

You are the registered keeper yourself, Teil I and II in your name, still without a German Anmeldung. Needs apostilled ID, power of attorney and foreign residency proof, and takes longer.

§

Why either is lawful

The FZV separates the keeper (Halter) from the owner (Eigentümer). Leasing companies and employers register vehicles on this basis every working day; nothing about the structure is hidden from the Zulassungsstelle.

EU

What the plates are worth

Street-legal in all 27 EU states plus the UK, Switzerland and Norway. No 30-day export-plate clock, no annual re-registration, no border paperwork.

Estimate the running cost

Our fee is fixed. Your insurance isn't.

Setup (€500) and service (€99/month, 12 months upfront) never change. What varies is the insurance premium and the vehicle tax, and both are billed to you at cost. Move the sliders for a realistic range for your car.

Insurance · at cost≈ €2,100 – €3,500 / yr
Vehicle tax · at cost≈ €220 / yr
Our service fee€500 + €99/mo

Insurance & vehicle tax above are realistic ranges based on your inputs — billed at the insurer's and tax office's actual rates with zero markup. Our own fee is fixed: €500 one-time plus €99/month billed 12 months upfront, and +€400 once if the car still carries foreign registration papers.

In their words

Owners who've crossed the border.

Brexit made everything harder. GermanCarRegistration made it possible again — my GT3 was registered in four days and I've driven it through France and Spain since.

Lost the key to my Cayenne in Seville. Their team had a replacement coded and shipped within 48 hours. That's the difference between an agency and a concierge.

Why not just rent an address?

FAQ

What owners ask us before signing.

Is this actually legal?

Yes. German law (FZV) distinguishes between the vehicle's keeper (Halter) and its owner (Eigentümer). Our Brandenburg UG becomes the registered keeper — exactly as leasing companies and employers do for thousands of vehicles — while you remain the legal owner. Nothing is hidden from the authorities.

Do I need a German address?

No. That's the entire point of the service. Our UG's German address serves as the keeper address for registration, tax and insurance.

Who owns the car?

You do — fully and at all times. The purchase contract is in your name. In Model A we only hold the keeper role on the registration certificate, defined in a written service agreement you can terminate. In Model B you obviously own the car completely — you are both owner and keeper.

How long does registration take?

Five business days on average from complete documents to plates at your dealer. Complex cases (imports, classic cars) can take longer — we tell you upfront.

What does it cost in total?

Our own fee is €500 one-time for the registration plus €99 per month for the service, billed as a single annual payment of 12 months upfront. If the vehicle still carries foreign registration papers, converting them to German ones costs €400 once. Indoor storage near Berlin is an optional €290 per month. On top of that you pay the insurance premium and the vehicle tax at cost, with no markup — those depend on the car. De-registration later is included and takes about 15 minutes, remotely.

Which insurers do you work with?

AXA and Zurich. Policies include full EU coverage from the day of registration, including green-card territories where applicable.
