You live in the United States, travel to Europe regularly and want your own vehicle available between trips instead of renting. The car stays in Germany, insured and registered, ready when you land.
Importing a car from the USA
The vehicle is physically shipped from the United States. Customs clearance, technical review and — where required — TÜV or §21 individual approval become part of the process before registration.
Do you need a German address?
The ordinary registration process assumes that the keeper of the vehicle lives in Germany. German registration regulations, however, also address applicants who do not maintain a German residence, registered office or establishment. Where that applies, an authorised German recipient (Empfangsbevollmächtigter) for official correspondence can form part of the administrative structure, and the responsible Zulassungsstelle is determined accordingly.
Our role is to build that structure correctly and document it — not to invent a German residence for you. Depending on the individual situation, either registration in your own name or a company-keeper arrangement may be the appropriate route.

Exact requirements vary with the vehicle, its origin and the responsible registration authority. This is an orientation, not a fixed checklist.
