Car Registration in Hamburg — Dealers and the Port
Hamburg is different from the southern cities: about half of the cars we handle here are not staying in Germany. They are bought in the north and shipped out of the Port of Hamburg to the US, the Gulf or Asia.
That changes the paperwork. Alongside registration and insurance, the shipping line and the customs agent need a clean chain of documents — and in most export cases a formal Abmeldung with export plates at the end. We handle both ends of that.

What is specific to Hamburg
Port of Hamburg export
Ro-Ro and container lines want the Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil II and proof of de-registration. We prepare the file before your booking date.
Northern dealer network
Hamburg dealers are used to out-of-state buyers but still cannot release to a keeper without a German address. We fill that role.
Drive before you ship
Many clients tour Europe first and only ship months later. Permanent plates cover the whole period; the export step comes at the end.
Local registration office
Landesbetrieb Verkehr (LBV), Hamburg
Hamburg registrations run through the LBV service centres, which also issue export plates (Ausfuhrkennzeichen). Standard registrations we file in Brandenburg; export documentation is coordinated with your shipping agent.
