COC (Certificate of Conformity)
The EU manufacturer's certificate proving a car meets EU type approval.
The Certificate of Conformity (COC) is issued by the vehicle manufacturer and confirms that the car complies with EU type approval standards. It's required for the first registration of any imported car in Germany. If you don't have one, you can order it from the maker for €50–250, or — for exotic, US or classic cars — apply for a § 21 StVZO Vollabnahme where TÜV or DEKRA physically inspects the car.
