eVB-Nummer
A 7-character insurance confirmation code required to register a car in Germany.
eVB stands for elektronische Versicherungsbestätigung — an electronic proof of car insurance issued by German insurers. It replaces the paper Deckungskarte and is checked by the Zulassungsstelle in real time. Without a valid eVB, the counter clerk cannot register the car. eVBs are typically valid 6 months and cost nothing until you actually activate the policy by registering the car.
