German short-term plates, valid 5 days, used for HU trips and cross-country moves.

Kurzzeitkennzeichen (short-term plates) are yellow-bordered plates valid for 5 days from the printed expiry date. Purpose: driving a car to HU, to a workshop, or transporting it a short distance before proper registration. They require a short-term liability insurance policy (about €40–80) and cost €30–50 at the Zulassungsstelle. Cannot be used for regular daily driving.
