Umweltplakette

The Umweltplakette (Feinstaubplakette) is a coloured sticker on the windscreen showing the car's emissions class. Only the green (Grüne Plakette) sticker allows entry into Umweltzonen in cities like Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt. It costs €5–10 at the Zulassungsstelle, TÜV or DEKRA. Diesel cars may additionally need to meet local diesel bans (Euro 5/6 restrictions apply in some cities).
