Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I
The German vehicle registration certificate carried in the car (formerly Fahrzeugschein).
Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I (ZB I) is the document you must carry when driving in Germany. It lists the current keeper (Halter), the vehicle's technical data, HU due date and plate. It's the successor to the Fahrzeugschein and was standardised across the EU in 2005. If you sell the car, Teil I goes to the buyer along with Teil II. If lost, apply for a duplicate at the Zulassungsstelle — cost around €12.
